STORY OF A MYTH |

Conceived during the summer of 1976, the XLCR was, without any doubt, the Milwaukee’s maverick. Going against an ocean of conservative customers dedicated to Touring, « leaded » with a cast-iron engine and submitted to the tsunami of the new Japanese sports bikes, this gorgeous bike never met a deserved commercial success. Today, while all those standards are reversed, one cannot help to think that the XLCR was born too soon. Today, they are customers who expect a bike with a (very) strong identity, they above all want a « lively » engine, they are tired of comparing numbers lists and ultimate performances. Among them, some V-Twin Harley fans don’t feel at home with the Custom image of HD or the radically modern vision by Buell. Those are impatient to come back to a certain idea of motorcycle riding : they want a low, refined, classy and gifted bike with one of the last "lively" engine to be. This alchemy has a name… |
